:What made you decide to run, and why do you think you are the best choice for Deschutes County?

Bend families deserve a clean, safe and beautiful place to live. And since tourism is our #1 industry…our economy depends on it. We need to maximize the strength of our families through creation and expansion of business. While we need to help those in need, we need to be careful and not incentivize folks to move here just for a handout. I’d like to create a vetting system to decide who receives assistance and who doesn't.

:How do you think the person in the position you are running for has been performing?

Broadman is interested in becoming a state level politician. His aspirations are for his career, mine are to improve our city.

Elections: In both the 2016 and 2020 there were allegations of election fraud throughout our country. With both Democrats and Republicans questioning election integrity in the past two presidential elections, what is your stand on voter I.D.? If you are not willing to support voter I.D., what do you immediately suggest to ensure bipartisan fair elections?

I am all for voter ID. only citizens should vote. and voter fraud is illegal and should be enforced. in person voting on a single day with paper ballots sounds ideal.

Constitution: What are the 5 protections in the 1st Amendment of the US Constitution? Would you support another pandemic lockdown despite conflict with the 1st Amendment? Would you support mandatory vaccinations and/or ‘vaccine passports’?

religion, press, speech, assembly, petition. no lockdowns, no vaccine mandate……ever

:What is your position on the 2nd Amendment?

I am Pro 2nd Amendment

Immigration: Do you support ‘sanctuary’ cities, counties or states for immigrants who unlawfully enter our country?

We need to be unified in immigration policy, I oppose Bend being a sanctuary city.

:Do you believe illegal aliens should be entitled to any form of financial or social welfare support from taxpayers, including legal support such as driver’s licenses?

No

:In 2020 after the George Floyd riots, the CDC declared racism a public health crisis. “Should all [state] public health entities be legally prohibited from using their public employment to infuse a communist agenda into policies and programs they oversee, including non-medical social topics such as gun rights, racism, and climate change”?

Health organizations are proposed with improving our health. not endorsing social issues.

:Do you support allowing citizens and companies under the control of China, North Korea, and other countries who want to undermine the U.S. to buy land in this state?

No

:If elected, what will you do to solve the homelessness and lack of affordable housing crisis?

WE need to vet people who receive benefits. Local people who are down on their luck will get help. Folks who come in from out of state to receive benefits will be denied. Bend has plenty of low income housing projects, we need to focus on the middle class.

:If elected, what will you do to solve the drug problem in Central Oregon?

I cant solve the drug problem. But we can and should make drugs illegal again.

Schools: Do you support delivering the full amount of every child’s K-12 funding into an education savings account his parents can use at a public, private, or home school, or a blend of school options?

Absolutely, school choice all the way.

:Do you support ‘Critical Race Theory’?

No

:Would you remove state funding from state universities, grant recipients, and K-12 schools that violate the U.S. Constitution’s ban on all forms of state-sponsored racial hatred such as preaching “white privilege” or supporting terrorist groups, such as Hamas?

Yes

:Should the state legislature allow school and public libraries to purchase books that depict graphic sex scenes, especially books that describe and picture sex acts such as rape, incest, and pedophilia?

No

:It is against the law to make inappropriate material available to children, yet our schools and libraries ignore these laws, and allow inappropriate material to not be deemed so. How would you hold these officials accountable to the law?

By shining light on an area that has been left in the dark.

:Do you support Diversity/Equity/Inclusion?

I support equality of opportunity, not equality of outcome or equity. I do not support DEI.

Government: If the state attorney general challenges a federal regulation or action, how would you require your state agencies to cooperate with the attorney general with that challenge?

By supporting the constitution in its current form.

:Is it right to use taxpayer money to reward favored economic activity and why? And what can state government do to unleash citizens’ ability to better themselves and their families economically?

No subsidies, but I support tax breaks for businesses who choose to make our city better. Competition encourages growth, increased wages will come along with that growth.

:What should the governor and state legislature do to control health care costs?

By encouraging competition, and discouraging monopolies.
